How to Sign a PDF on Your Phone (iPhone & Android)

Getting a "please sign and send it now" message while you're out is stressful. You don't need a computer. The phone in your hand can do it — and a finger-drawn signature actually looks more natural than one drawn with a mouse.

The same steps on iPhone and Android

  1. Save the PDF you got by email or chat to your phone.
  2. Open the PDF editor in your phone browser (Safari, Chrome, etc.).
  3. Tap upload and pick the PDF you saved.
  4. Tap the Signature tool and sign the line with your finger.
  5. If you need a name or date, add it with the Text tool.
  6. Tap Done to download, and attach that file to your reply.

No app to install. A browser is all you need.

Tips for drawing better on a phone

  • Pinch to zoom: if the signature line is small, zoom in and you'll draw far more accurately.
  • One stroke, not slow: a finger is like a mouse — hesitate and it looks shaky. Sign in one motion, like you would on paper.
  • Undo if you don't like it: use the undo button at the top to clear and redraw.
  • Handwriting font: adding text in the handwriting font gives a signed feel.

When the file won't show up on iPhone

Check that the PDF is in the Files app or your downloads. An email attachment has to be saved once before the browser can pick it.

Common questions

Do I have to install an app? No. It works right in the phone browser, without the permissions an installed app would ask for.

My finger signature looks messy. Zoom in and draw slowly for a cleaner line. If that still doesn't do it, you can insert a photo of a signature you made on paper.

Is the file I uploaded on data safe? PDFedit24 doesn't send the file to a server — it processes it on your phone.

Next time you need to sign in a hurry while out, open the editor on your phone.

Sign your PDF right now

No install, no sign-up. Your file never leaves your browser.
